Vij provides overall project leadership, strategic vision, and governance for Merge. He guides the conceptual framework bridging modelling and analytics with real-world infrastructure priorities, leading high-level stakeholder engagement with national bodies such as BITRE and iMOVE CRC to translate university research into funded, deployable intelligence systems.
Technical Lead

Wei is the principal architect of the underlying technology, leading the core data science and computational workflows that power Merge. He designed and operationalised the scalable single-level optimization and multi-source data fusion algorithms that make large-scale freight origin–destination (OD) inference computationally feasible from passive IoT, telematics, and survey data.

Nicholas provides practical industry context and operational framing to ensure the platform directly addresses real-world policy and planning mandates. Drawing on senior experience across government infrastructure agencies and operational transport portfolios, he aligns Merge’s analytical outputs with existing agency workflows, asset management priorities, and statutory decision frameworks.
